GUIDELINES FOR SETTING YOUR SPACE

These are some guidelines for how you can prepare your space for yourself…

  1. Position yourself in a room with no-one else in it, so you are not disturbed. Let people know that you need some quiet time for the duration of the session: 35mins – 1 hour. Put a sign on your door if you need to :).
  2. Find yourself a comfy chair where you can sit upright, and have a blankie available for maximum comfort. You can also be sitting upright in your bed with your feet cross-legged or stretched out in front of you.
  3. Make the space you are meditating in tidy and clean – this will help your mind to relax.
  4. Loosen any tight-fitting clothing that will distract you.
  5. If you have a candle available, light that, and even light a stick of incense. These are not essential, but are supportive of a meditation practice.
  6. Do any other rituals you do to set your space for holy practices if you have those.
  7. Ensure your sound is working on your computer / tablet / phone, and plug in any speakers you might have to maximise the sound.
  8. Make sure your phone is switched to airplane mode if you are using your computer for this meditation or on ‘do not disturb’ if you are using your 3G/4G/5G.
  9. Have a glass of water on hand to ensure you drink some water afterwards & empty your bladder beforehand!
  10. We may play music through Zoom but if this is not possible enjoy the music choices below!
