GUIDELINES FOR SETTING YOUR SPACE
These are some guidelines for how you can prepare your space for yourself…
- Position yourself in a room with no-one else in it, so you are not disturbed. Let people know that you need some quiet time for the duration of the session: one hour at most. Put a sign on your door if you need to 🙂
- Find yourself a comfy chair where you can sit upright, and have a blankie available for maximum comfort. You can also be sitting upright in your bed with your feet cross-legged or stretched out in front of you.
- Make the space you are meditating in tidy and clean – this will help your mind to relax.
- Loosen any tight-fitting clothing that will distract you.
- If you have a candle available, light that, and even light a stick of incense. These are not essential, but are supportive of a meditation practice.
- Do any other rituals you do to set your space for holy practices if you have those.
- Ensure your sound is working on your computer / phone, and plug in any speakers you might have to maximise the sound.
- Make sure your phone is switched to airplane mode if you are using your computer for this meditation or on ‘do not disturb’ if you are using your 3G/4G/5G.
- Have a glass of water on hand to ensure you drink some water afterwards & empty your bladder beforehand!
- We do play the music through Zoom but if this is not possible enjoy the music choices below!
