Why would you want to train or receive a session from an Ancient Mystery School?

I remember first doing the Empower Thyself Class & Initiation – I thought I had landed down the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland! However, once I received these ancient tools of transformation – I couldn’t actually visualise myself doing them! Routine was not my thing at all.

Little did I know … I would discover many things about myself like my newfound love of discipline, order and structure. Truthfully, to have a positive set of daily systems is very positive and uplifting!

There are many things we don’t know about ourselves … in an article I wrote about the Life Activation, I state “The Life Activation can be described as a light shining into a dark corner. It makes visible what was hidden in the shadows, but more than that, it gives you the ability to work through what you see. This is an empowering experience!”

In addition, you get to see the amazing things about yourself you didn’t know! Like my passion for order and structure that I had no idea I had, awakening the ability to heal old patterns and discovering I can do so much more than I thought I could.

At the heart of WHY you might want to study or receive a session from the Modern Mystery School, is to KNOW who you really are. Or KNOW THYSELF – the very reason the ancient Mystery Schools exist is they have preserved the ancient tools of Know Thyself for thousands of years waiting for those who really want to know!

As a spiritual organisation, it is very natural to ask or question if this is a cult…

It is so very important to ask these questions and fanaticism, understandably, is something we all need to be vigilant about!

A cult has a motivation to brainwash and to apply mind control techniques on their members. At the Modern Mystery School, we want to help you have self-control of your own mind — not tell you what to think! Mindfulness techniques like meditation are practiced and encouraged in the Modern Mystery School. The personal benefits of meditation and learning to control one’s own mind are huge.

It’s not about telling you what to think, but rather helping you peel back the layers of what others have told you to think, supporting you to truly think for yourself, to operate and live in alignment with your life purpose.

Cults will also discourage members from outside reading material. We have a long recommended book list of ancient mystery teachings, written by various authors and publishers, that would encourage the student to gain more knowledge and increase the opportunity for deeper exploration of concepts, critical thinking and individual judgement.

The power of the lineage

There are many spiritual & new age teachings available. The teachings from the Modern Mystery School are not New Age, but are metaphysical teachings, meaning that they are above (meta = above) the physical world, where many secrets about true reality have been handed down for thousands of years (hard to imagine, right!) from mouth to ear explaining the many mysteries of the physical and how to live a truely joyful life in the physical. These teachings start being handed down right away in the powerful Empower Thyself program. They have, for the most part, been kept behind closed doors, waiting for true seekers who are ready to receive! Today on planet earth in this moment in time, many of us are ready to receive!

How did the Modern Mystery School open to the public?

In 1997, Founder Gudni Gudnason opened the doors of one of the original Seven Ancient Mystery Schools to the public. He received this charter while studying at another closed Mystery School. It was something fairly daunting for him to receive at a younger age, but one of the reasons he was well chosen for this role, is he makes no excuses for the uniqueness of who he is. Founder Gudni Gudnason is not someone to be worshipped, (which is, by the way, a key feature of a cult) as he remains authentically himself, thus showing us that there is room to express the multiple facets that make us who we are. Learning from Founder Gudni is a mind-opening experience allowing you to explore aspects of yourself have not imagined. Part of his charter was to find others who could reach the same levels of Self Mastery and Service to Humanity and he found and trained two incredible individuals Ipsissimus Dave Lanyon and Ipsissimus Hideto Nakagome who both have incredible teachings to share with the world that will open your mind to so many new possibilities!

You can see if something is really good by the fruits it yields!

I have been so excited by the great results in people’s lives … I have barely had time to take the hundreds of testimonials I could’ve taken, but it truely is in the fruits in people’s lives that we know this is good. I did not know anything about the Modern Mystery School in 2003, but my own mother and sister received the sacred initiation in Empower Thyself changing their lives so much and leaving me somewhat flummoxed with how they both shifted so much and become such inspirations to me! When I stepped into Empower Thyself and it was shared with me what this process can do, I then realised (and was ready to hear) that the revolutions I saw in their lives was due to this sacred process and so: by its fruits you shall know. Good people who remember their inherent goodness, do good things!
